Call for applications - Governance Board Members

Position: Governance Board Member
Start date: August 2023

ABOUT ISDAO

ISDAO, Initiative Sankofa d’Afrique de l’Ouest, is an activist-led fund dedicated to building a West African movement for sexual diversity and sexual rights, through a flexible approach to grantmaking and the strengthening of a philanthropic culture committed to the promotion of human rights and social justice. The principles and values that govern ISDAO's work are activist-led, feminism, transparency, accountability, empowerment, inclusion, diversity and intersectionality, self-determination, flexibility, equity and sustainability.

CONTEXT OF THE MISSION

Consistent with the decisions taken during the 2021 and 2022 Interim Governance Body (IGB) meetings, ISDAO is undergoing a recruitment and selection process to appoint Governance Board Members. To this end, we invite West African LGBTQI activists who have an authentic desire to serve the Human Rights movement in this capacity and meet the criteria set out within these Terms of Reference, to apply.

The Governance board structure supports the implementation of ISDAO values about power and collaboration, and is flat, with specific roles that require specific capabilities and access while accommodating shared accountability.
